I'm not sure if this has always behaved this way or not, but it definitely seems like it has to be a bug and not by design. Brace yourself, it's a bit precise.
Ok, so if I have an object with a path animation and I duplicate it, the path animation controls (the dotted path line and the green/red start and end handles) for the duplicated object disappear if I hide the original object using the selection pane and then attempt to move the duplicated object. Even if I add a new path animation to the duplicated object, its controls also disappear as soon as I move the object again. This is easier to see than to explain, so here's a video:

I've already submitted a report to Microsoft. I am using Microsoft PowerPoint for Mac Version 16.28 (19081202) as an Office 365 subscriber. Curious if any of you are able to replicate this in your copy of PP and in either case what version you have. I already tried to replicate this on the Windows versoin 1907 (11901.20176) and cannot do so.
