Computer I'm using is running High Sierra...thought that was close enough (maybe not).

In case it helps Mitch...version of Safari I'm on is 11.1.2.

Yeah, I tested on my one Mac with HS, too, and it worked there, but like you, that's version 11.1.2. He's on 10.x, so maybe things changed?

Hey Mitch:

To reduce zoom regardless which version of Safari or how old your macOS is.....

Hold down your Command key and the - Minus sign at the same time until you achieve the zoom setting you want. Also works the other way: Command and + Plus increases it.

I'm using Sierra with Safari 12 and another computer with Safari 11
Its in the Safari prefs-websites-page zoom.

I tried Safari 9 and I couldn't find it. Sorry...don't have 10, but at least you know you can get it on Sierra. Be aware though that Safari 12 kills any extensions you might have installed.

I discovered the maximum magnification for this site in exactly the same way on Brave with exactly the same result as mitcherooney's screen shot in post #1. 110% is the maximum I can have. Screen Shot 2020-11-27 at 2.06.28 pm.png

It depends on the size of the screen. Two columns are fixed width, the center one adjusts. Frankly I think that's a very poor design, but it is what it is. The key is to find what works for your Mac, your screen, your eyesight.

Jake is right. I'm on a 27" iMac set to its native resolution and I have my zoom at 125%. I can go as high as 150% if I choose to do so.

I had the OP's problem. Had it for a few weeks, but today it's reverted back to normal. Very strange.
