Noobie question about updating an iMac

Just before the Core 2 Duos came out, I bought a 17 inch Duo Core iMac.

I have been wondering if it is possible or worth (cost vs. performance) it to take the iMac to an Apple dealer to have them replace the Duo Core with a Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz.

I'd appreciate your input.

It is possible to upgrade to a Core 2 Duo from a Core Duo CPU, although these instructions indicate that the process is "not for the faint of heart".

You may be better of selling the computer on eBay, and rebuying a new one. Macs tend to hold their resale pretty well.
