Noob iTunes question.... ashamed i have to ask

Late 2013 iMac, 3.5GHz Quad i7, 24GB RAM, GTX 780m, 10.8.5, iPhone6
i have an iMac and a macbook pro, how can i set it so when i purchase something on iTunes via one mac it automatically syncs to the second mac, like contacts do via iCloud?!

Well it depends on what you are purchasing. For starters, you should use the same Apple ID on both the machines. If you purchase an app on the iMac, for example, you can go to the MBP and click on Purchases and it will say Download instead of "Free" or the price of the application since you already purchased it.

However, you DO have to download it manually, it will not automatically show up..

I imagine the same goes for music and other things..
