Non boot after hard drive remove / reinstall A1286

Hi, first post! Hope someone can help!

I have any MBP A1286, Yosemite I think.

We removed hard drive to put in a external hard drive reader to transfer files to a newer iMac, all done files transferred.

Now with HD back in, no boot, prohibited sign.

From a little bit of research, suspect an issue with partition map??

Have tried to repair/ verify disk but fails on disk utility via recovery mode.

Sometimes it could be a loose connection.

Or try safe mode?

NVRAM reset, SMC reset.
