I'm having a problem with the Mac or Apple Podcast Player that I hope someone has a solution for.

There is no sound on my Mac Podcast Player, version 1.0.0 (1440.4).
The no sound issue applies to all podcasts within the Mac Podcast Player.
All other apps play sound on my external speakers, so the no sound problem is limited to the Mac Podcast Player.
The mute button is "not" check-marked in Preferences > Sound > Output.
Re-booting the computer does not solve the problem.
The arrow symbol next to the sound slider has the mac mini option check-marked (see the attached screenshot).
The only other option in this area is Roku Ultra.
The sound slider button is positioned at full volume.
I'm not sure if the Mac Podcast Player needs an app like AirPort Express to produce sound.
If so, I don't have AirPort Express in the Applications folder.
I have a Mac Mini desktop computer with Mac OS X Catalina, version 10.15.7.
