Hi there,

Today my mbp wanted to install some updates- i let it happen and when it finished, Safari wouldn't open up. It would bounce in the dock- nothing. It's been carrying on like this all day.. i took the shortcut out of the dock and placed it in again, restarted, shut down, tried to open Safari up in Finder, i ran Onyx to clean my computer up a bit and still; no dice. anyone out there have this problem before/currently? thanks.

It sounds like either their was a problem updating Safari (if your updates were Safari updates of course). I would remove Safari, and install it again. If it still doesn't work, try removing Safari and the package receipt (I can't remember exactly where it is stored).

The Safari plist file is in users/username/Library/Preferences.

The file name is com.apple.safari.plist

bleh that was rather noob-y. anyway, i got it. i found the site where i can download Safari (free), i was using the real player browser on my mbp to try to download the dmg file but no luck, i didnt pop up. i then went to my imac and attempted to transfer Safari 3.1.2 for leopard via my external harddrive. everything transfered properly but then when i went to download on my mbp it said that it wasn't openable.

This update requires Mac OS X 10.5.2 or newer." even though im working off leopard... please help, firefox is terrible compared to Safari.
