Just purchased a MB for my wife and as we are a PC family I have a question about Safari. How can I configure the window to span the full width and length of the screen? It currently displays part of a web page but I must scroll right or left to see the other sections. I've looked in preferences but have found nothing as well as the other options.

Thanks in advance

swimman,

Click on the green button and if there is content, it will open up all the way. If it doesn't open all the way, just grab the lower right corner (at the little triangles) and drag it to the right and down.

If a full Mac window isn't large enough, just use Control with your mouse wheel and it will re-size the content window.

If the dashboard bothers you at the bottom, you can move it. Your window won't maximize to full potential unless you go to:

1. system preferences
2. dashboard and then click auto hide.

It enables you to maximize you window the way if would be on a PC. Once you put your mouse where the dashboard was previously it stays up until you remove your mouse from the area.

Thanks for the help. It took me a little while to find as it's in System Preferences and then in Dock, not Dashboard. Looks much better now.

swimman,

I think I missed your point, sorry - I see now you wanted to hide the dock so you could get a full window...

Noels,
I did what you suggested as well and got me one step closer to filling the screen. This is all new to us coming from a PC so it may take a little time to discover where everything is located.

Thanks again.
