New Macbook vs. 15'' Pro

Is it really worth it to buy the lower end 15'' macbook pro compared to getting the stock black macbook? The regular macbook has a faster optical drive, larger standard hard drive, same amount of ram... Does it really seem reasonable to spend ~$500 more for a 2 inch larger screen, slightly better graphics card, slower optical drive, less HD space? Just my $.02...
