As mentioned in the Community Announcements area...Mac-Forums was moved to a different server 5-15-21. It's possible some gremlins may have developed with the move. If something seems to not be working correctly (differently than previously...before the server move)...please post here.

Thanks

p.s. The recent emojii issue still needs to be resolved.

Two known issues at the moment are:

1. Pre-existing emoji issue.
2. Mac-Forums app may not be working well.

Thanks Nick.

We can tackle the emoji issue later.

I'll give the Mac-Forums app a test to see what is or is not working right.

Update: It appears that the Mac-Forums app is now working properly. To be 2x-3x-etc sure...If anyone else can verify this...that would be great.:)

Thanks,

- Nick

I can verify it Nick. I used it this afternoon from my wife's doctor's office and as far as I could tell it worked okay.

Of course, it's not the best on an iPhone 12 Mini, but a lot better on my iPad Pro. :)

Yes; I can verify that the app is working fine on my iPad Pro. Tested it this minute, Nick.

Thank you very much, Nick. Lots of hard work gone into solving that I'm sure.

One of those fun things that helps convey the right meaning in a thread reply. Text only medium sometimes not the best at communicating a members mindset when writing a post.

We encourage everyone to use smilies & emoji's in posts...really helps. We've definitely have had times when a thread post was "taken the wrong way"...and then.:punchy:devil:🤬

Maybe not strictly a bug but a deficiency in the forum software.

I noticed today that the search function in this forum will not find posts with that search keyword for some period of time after the post is published on the forum.
I find that odd for commercial software because I run a hobby website using the free 4images software and entries with new keywords are found within seconds after they are added to that website.

Specifically, I started a thread about macOS12 - Monterey

Before I posted just after 4:00pm today. I did a search for
macOS12
Monterey
macOS12 - Monterey

I just wanted to add my information to any thread about that macOS, but the search came back empty.

Now I see that there was already a post with macOS12 in the title at 3:12pm but the forum search did not pick that up.

We'll need to look into that. I know that XenForo has a powerful search engine built in to it. I have used that quite often although it sometimes will give too much information.

Thanks for reporting it.

I don't think it's worth a lot of effort to check into that.
I have since tried the search and get all the posts related to that topic.
At the time when I received no hits, I searched for "titles only" using the Threadloom Search which is pre-selected.
After that initial search which brought up no hits, I also checked the macOS - Operating System Forum section and didn't see any thread there with MacOS 12 as the title. Maybe because "One More Thing" posts are initiallyposted elsewhere?

If you are ignoring the member that started the thread, you won't see their threads. I can't see the other thread, that you are referring to. So, I am going to assume it was started by OneMoreThing.

You would have to ignore the forum bot as an individual for that to happen. Ignoring the RSS threads and news will not do the same thing.

As you may know, we move many of the Bot's threads to other forums as the topic may apply.

Has anyone else had problems staying logged in to Mac-Forums lately? Usually I open the site on my browser and as I have "Keep Me Logged In" ticked it opens on the main page or linked page in the case of email notifications but not any more. The page displays with the login window open and already filled with user name and password and the "Keep Me Logged In" box ticked but I still have to click login.
This happens on all my browsers and although it's just a minor inconvenience I wondered what if anything has changed?

No one else has reported problems logging in as you described. And, nothing about our log on procedures have changed.

Could be something on your end that has changed?

Thanks for the rapid response Charlie, I just wondered. It's not a big thing and only takes a second to login, I just don't understand why the "Keep me logged in" function is not working on any browser. I might just clear cookies and cache and see if anything changes.

I haven't exp[eroenced that issue either, Rod. I tend to do as you do and have at least one forum page open (usually several more) without getting bounced out.
