Hey,

Been having issues w/this cheap ISP, supplying via monopoly, the fastest option for internet we have here in mid Canada. Wouldn't dare call it HS as can be as slow as dial up at times.

Also being in the middle of no-where I get TV thru downloads as is too remote even for 'farmer vision' via antenna, so I use a fair amt of bandwidth, no arguments.

But noticed this in console

pple.launched[1] (com.apple.ocspd) Throttling respawn: Will start in 8 seconds

Does this mean the satellite provider is throttling me?

If so

Any work around's??????

cheers and gracias

No, that's not what it means.

It means that its high time you run OnyX and specifically told it to rebuild the Launch Services Database.

As explanation..the message "Throttling respawn" is a OS level message. There are certain services within the OS that are set to respawn themselves if they ever die because they provide a needed service.

Sometimes, however, those services may have issues that prevent then from staying alive for long, so they start up and then die, but since they are SUPPOSED to be respawned, they're re-created and then die quickly and so on. To prevent this behavior from having a bad effect on the rest of the system, the OS will try to limit the respawn time to see if whatever it causing the service to die will clear out..

Regards
