NETSHARE STATUS REPORT 2

We've finally gotten in contact with Apple. Looks like the lack of communication was due to automated e-mail systems being employed on both ends, which resulted in e-mails being lost in transit. We're working with Apple to get NetShare back up on the AppStore as soon as possible.

- Hopefully that means soon, I need tethering!!! haha

but if they do resolve the issue it still begs the question of why the app was pulled not just once, but twice!

Here is why the app was pulled.

App team member sees a bazillion internet posts about Netshare titled (how did this get past apple?). He then goes and pulls it to be safe and send an email off to his supervisor. That supervisor has no idea why it shouldn't be on the list and puts it back on the next day.

Then 2 days later a new apple employee who was sick the last 2 days comes into work, checks engadget and some other blogs from his computer. And pulls it down again. Also most likly because of the way the online press was talking about the app.

In the end the app doesn't violate anything. Using it with AT&T might violate THEIR agreement with the user but there are other countries where it would be just fine. And it isn't apples job to worry about that in the first place.

Depending on the details of Apples agreement with AT&T and other carriers world wide, it just might be their job to worry about violating the terms of the agreement(s).

Glad I got it the second time it was up. Works pretty nice. Faster than I expected. Will be nice to use at work where they block almost everything.

If it doesn't come back in the next month or so, this might by the only thing that will make me want to jailbreak.

The only way to get Netshare to work (besides having bought it from the iTunes store) is to jailbrake your phone.

Am I wrong because I'd love to get my hands on this app.

Using 3proxy or netshare on the jailbroken phone. I jailbroke mine last night to try it, and got 3proxy to work, its quite a few steps you gotta do each time but it works. I would way rather have netshare and an unjailbroken phone.

I think i'm missing something here but:
1.What Does Netshare do??
2.Which category of the app store is it supposed to be (if it's there)

It allows you to use your iphone as a modem for your computer for free. In other words free internet for you computer...They pulled it from the app store quickly.
