need to buy a new lcd for 12 inch ibook!!!

i've been searching online for the best deal on a replacement lcd screen. are there any recommendations on where to go to get a good price?

right now it seems like the price is leaning me towards buying a new laptop but i'm a student and really can't afford to upgrade and my ibook g4 still fits my needs and requirements.

help would be appreciated!

One of my buddies has an iBook whose screen broke. He got his replacement on eBay... can't remember how much, but I don't remember him saying that it was expensive. I'd try there first if you've got an account.

I think you can get one on Ebay for about $100-200

you can get a screen for pretty cheap on ebay. a 12" screen should run you anywhere from 40-80 dollers. the g3s and g4s that i have worked with have all been the same. I did a DIY a while back on how to replace your screen.

Yea, you can use G3 iBook screens on G4 and vise versa. You can pick up a new screen for $100 easily on eBay.
One thing you need to watch for is the connector. I've seen G3's and G4's use two different connectors. Essentially they're the same but different sizes. One connector is about an inch wide and the other is a little wider. Make sure you know what your iBook now has so you replace it with a screen with the same connector size.
