Need Help

Ok I know this may be a bit weird but ah....i got os x panter in .dmg file. Can't seem to install it. Anyone can help??
I mount the image, got the installer working. When it ask to restart the mac i restart it, but once the restart is done, nothing happens?

Can i actually copy the contents of the disk image onto my hard drive, would that help?

By the way, I'm running a imac dv, hence no disc burner to burn the image.
Please help.

a .dmg file eh? I didnt know Apple was selling it that way

im going to give you the benefit of the doubt, and guess that the person who sent it to you bought a family set with multiple licenses.

You need to burn the disks using Disk Utility (Applications/Utilities).

Heh but the problem is I don't have a burner on my mac, hence I can only burn it on my pc. is there any windows problems you know of that handles .dmg files???

Actually I gave up on that and decided to get my own Panther, just got it installed. But there seems to be a problem with disc 3, is it critical that I installed the disc 3?? What's on it? I can't read it at all. Can someone please enlighten me on this? The shops where i'm at are already closed so i can't get a replacement unitl tomorrow. Anyone?? Please?

no xcode has its own disc with a hammer and blueprint picture on the front

So what is on disk three? Is it fill with printer drivers?

Some where i read that there is about 1GB of printer drivers.

Disc 3 requires 108 mb

its installing X11, Epson Print Drivers, Additional Fonts and whatever common access card is

I actually had forgotten to look to see what was on the disc until this was brought up.

Discs 1&2 - Install Disc
Disc 3 - X11, Epson Print Drivers, Additional Fonts and Common Access Card
Disc 4 - XCode and Developers Tools

Discs 1-3 All look the same with the black CD and Panther X logo
Disc 4 could be sold separately exactly the way it is.
