Hello,

I just got my new Quad-core iMac i7 today and I installed bootcamp successfully but I cannot access the internet and when I drag windows there is a delay. I installed the 32-bit version on my iMac i7.

On my old MacBook Pro I installed Vista with no problems and could access my wireless airport. On my new iMac however it just says windows cannot find any networks. When I drag windows around and when Vista is starting up the screen lags so if I drag a window from the top to bottom I can see a trail that lasts for around 1 second.

Is the problem the 32-bit Vista Home Premium software on a iMac i7? Or do I need to install firmware? I didn't receive a Snow Leapord Disk with my iMac btw.

If you guys could help that would be greatly appreciated.

1. Where did you buy it from? If you've just bought a new iMac you should have got a Snow Leopard disc with it - if you didn't you need to get in touch with whoever sold it to you.

2. Your problems are down to not having the bootcamp drivers installed, for which you need the Snow Leopard disc.

I found the disk and managed to install it properly but I have an even bigger problem now. After installing and setting up bootcamp I restarted the computer and all the textures went all fuzzy and the resolution changed to 640xetc. All of the things I can see on the screen are like yellow blue and fuzzy. Is this because my iMac is faulty or because it is simply overheated? I also opened up Modern Warfare 2 for like 2 minutes and it worked fine but after that it went all fuzzy and the screen was just black when I opened up the game.

right click on the desktop and change the resolution.

Make sure you've got the latest bootcamp version installed (there was a recent update. make sure you have the latest windows updates and make sure you have the latest 27" iMac firmware updates installed.

It's very unlikely to be overheating or faulty if this only just happened after installing the bootcamp drivers.

I changed the resolution and no more fuzziness but after I open up Modern Warfare 2 it kinda changes back to the low resolution and then goes black. I can hear the background music of the game but the screen is black.

Sounds like MW2 is set to an unsupported resolution. Can you get into the video options to change the game resolution?

look for a file called mp_playlists.ff and delete it - steam/steamapps/common/call of duty modernwarfare 2/zone/english/mp_playlists.ff

that doesn't work, you can also delete Config_mp.cfg - in the Players folder of /call of duty modernwarfare 2/players

If that doesn't work, you may have to set the screen resolution to 1024x768 prior to starting the game.

Sorry for asking all these questions irrelevant to the topic but now I can't get the internet to work. This was the same on my previous bootcamp partition on my MacBook Pro. I am using Vista Home Premium and I am connecting using a D-Link and a Airport Wireless. When I try to connect to my wireless network I have no problems but it is local access only. I have searched the internet and many other users have the same problem. I have tried power cycling and restarting but to no avail. The internet on my iMac works fine.

firstly is everything up to date as per my post above?

When you connected wirelessly did you set the connection up as a Home network?

Can you post a screen shot of your vista network and sharing dialogue?

I'm just gonna give up trying to fix it. I had the same problems on my old MacBook Pro with Vista installed Boot camp. Getting someone to install a new wired access point by my computer.
