NetBios is communication protocol common used in Post Windows 2000, 98, XP machines to qickly identify other Window machines on the network. I don't see how OS X would use it... Windows machines would see a Mac if a SMB connection was made. Mac OS X works by using DNS names or IP addresses to resolve to another machine. There are a few tricks and scripts to get a NetBios name off the net, but it's not a feature commonly found in OS X.

Thanks Jay, I figured it was possible since under network, Macs can see all the share names and computers that are associated with them. Ill google to see if I cant find some scripts.

Thanks
