My MacBook Pro 2017 screen cracked

I purchased a MacBook Pro 15 inch in 2017 for a friend. The lower right section of the screen cracked and the screen does not display anything. Unfortunately, the Apple Care warranty ran out!

Does anyone have a ball park figure of how much it will cost to repair this issue? I made an appointment at Apple for tomorrow.

Please redefine which MacBook Pro you have. The 16" MacBook Pro was not sold before 2019. Are you referring to a 15" model?

Anyway, here's a ballpark figure for the 15" model:

If you have a MacBook with a Retina display screen (pretty standard equipment these days, but not with the older MacBooks) you can expect to spend between $455 and $755 replacing the screen completely at the Apple Store. Tier 4 Accidental Damage is $655, then an additional $100 Labor Charge for a total of $755. Jul 21, 2020

Prices are variable when purchasing from eBay, but most of those displays are pre-owned and removed from non functional machines. Buyer beware.
