There are no viri for OS X!

Nobody said this is a virus. They said it's a trojan. And yes, Mac trojans do exist. This one was developed as a proof of concept to show that it can infect a Mac, and apparently it did.

Because I don't think anyone who has been on this site long enough to have some sort of general reputation has ever had this problem. We rarely get these kinds of posts, and when we do they're usually trolling and making things up, and from a new member.

You have Universal Access on and the Hysterical voice selected. It does exactly what you are describing.

Correct me if I am wrong but in post 9 when he went to the link a file was downloaded
to alter any settings would not a password had to be given there by enabling what ever
embedded instructions.

I believe the file he downloaded was just a coincidence and he enabled voice over by hitting keys by mistake. There are 100s of threads here on Mac Forums where people did just that.
