Awesome. Let us know how it works out. I've been referring a lot of people there because I've seen the MacService guy on the forums, but haven't had any feedback from people who have actually used their service.

yeah, i'm kinda nervous, and i know as soon as I ship off my computer i will go into withdrawal (we have not spent a day apart since I got it in august, lol) but I could really use the extra HD space and I cant really close the lid now, so fixing the upper case is a must. I opted for next day shipping though, because I really want my MBP back fast (I do need it for school work...)

I looked at their pricing and found them to be a tad salty. Did they give you any kind of M-F member discount?

i'm not sure what M-F is, and compared to what apple was charging the prices are not so bad. Plus there is a 10% student discount.

Those prices are a lot, wow.

Almost 400 for a drive replacement.

You can get a 7200 rpm drive for under 200 bucks. Imaging the drives is easy.

yup, it was dropped. I have another 2 questions though, 1) my laptop charges just fine, but in the menu bar, it says not charging even though it is charging. Right after the drop I did I hardware check to make sure everything was functioning (I used techtool delux) and at first it told me that the video memory was faulty, but I was playing a movie while running the test. Running the test with no apps running it told me everything checked out fine. The problem is that the hardware checker off of the tiger install disk also gives a video controller error... I tried running all my video games, and the performance has not dropped at all...

can anyone share some knowledge on either of these 2 issues?

just got off the phone with the people from macservice. Apparently my charging issue was because the DC in was damaged. Apparently this could have fried my logic board eventually, good save... Can't wait to get it back!
