My iMac 24" to HDTV...

Hi, first post so be gentle!

I've recently bought a mini displayport to hdmi cable to hook my iMac up to my Samsung TV with the intention of watching streamed videos on the big screen instead of the monitor.

The problem I am having is all that seems to come through is my desktop wallpaper. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
