Does anyone know if there's a way to allow Tiger to keep sound from a non-active user? As in, I'm playing music with iTunes, but fast switch to another user. The music stops. I'd like it to keep going. I've seen a lot of people asking this question, but I can't seem to find a solution yet. Help?

I don't think this can be done. If it could, it would be a really big memory hog.

You could just copy+paste your music library to the other users music folder.

There is a way to have the same music library on all user accounts of Mac OS X. However there is no way to continue playback when fast user switching. Here is how you can have the same music library on on user accounts(without duplicating the library).

1. Go to your music folder and move the iTunes folder to your public folder.
2. Open iTunes, click on itunes on the menu bar and go to preferences
3. go to advanced and change the iTunes music folder location to the itunes folder which you just put in the public folder.
4. You can repeat step 3 for all other user accounts on your computer. (you would need to go to HD>users>[name of user]*>public folder>iTunes Folder)

* = the name of the user where you done steps 1-3

You cannot keep music, or even a network connection going when you are using fast user switching

You are switching between different users, how can you expect any service running under one user to miraculously transfer to another user, how would OS X know what tasks it should run in another account?
