I'm looking into upgrading to a Mac Pro or an iMac, but want to know if there is a way to do live video switching out for art installations. I'd like to be able to send video files to different projectors or monitors on the fly. The Pro has the ability to hook up the necessary screens with multiple graphics cards, but would eight videos playing from the system at once be too much for it to handle? Also, any programs that would allow me to do this easily if it is powerful enough? I've just been told about Isadora. Anyone used it?
Any other thoughts or suggestions?
