Moving mp3 files

Is Home Sharing the way to import individual tunes from my desktop itunes to my laptop itunes? I read somewhere that that is just for listening. I need to import to use in imovie.

Plus, if you return to the first page, a number of suggestions were already given, e.g. if you have a recent OS X on your computers, AirDrop is already there; also, a free account at Dropbox would allow wirelessly transfer - otherwise, any of the other non-wireless choices that I suggested before would work. I know, but I can get faster and more specific answers here. I know I can throw mp3's into Dropbox and pull them down but I was looking for a way to get music from one itunes to another; a less tedious approach.
