Moving all my "stuff" to new computer

I have an old Macbook and I am getting a new(used) Macbook Pro. I'm not all that up on this stuff. Could someone tell me where I can find instructions on how to get all my pictures, files, etc and all the bookmarks/favorites etc (I use Chrome) from old Macbook to new. thanks

easy use time machine connect a large 1 - 2 tb usb external drive to your old macbook run time machine in system pref have it backup all your data apps accounts etc then once you get your new one install the o.s and on first boot up after the install it will ask you do you want to restore your files using time machine select yes and your done

thanks. Is it possible to hook up the new computer to the old computer and use time machine to dump directly from one to the other?
