I have posted this once before, but had no solution, so forgive me but here goes...

I am running 10.5.2 (too little remaining storage for 10.5.3), 1GB of RAM and a 2GHz Intel Dual Core processor. I have several accounts on the Macbook - mine, my sister's, a guest account and another account for me but in a foreign language. On my main account I have noticed that dialog boxes (such as Save dialogs and Pages template selections) have virtually non-existent animation. Things such as minimizing to the dock work perfectly, as do other system animations, but things such as Add Bookmark in Safari have no animation associated with them.

However, on all of the other accounts (on the same laptop) the dialog boxes slide down smoothly - just like they are supposed to.

I have nearly all of my files on my main account, with virtually none on the others. I have approximately 1GB of storage left (I know, I'm upgrading the HDD soon), but it doesn't seem to affect the other users.

At start-up, I run Thunderbird, Skype, LogMeIn and Growl. I have tried quitting all user applications in the Activity Monitor, but nothing changes.

Just to clarify, I had this laptop in December and when I had it the animations were fine. I can only assume a lack of sufficient storage and / or memory is to blame.

I have tried deleting applications, freeing up storage space and stopping services; nothing works.

Can anybody help me with this?
