All,

I've looked around and found several threads addressing this problem, however, I have tried all the recommended fixes and still have nothing to show for it. Any help would be appreciated. Let me know if there is any more information that you might need to help me out. I'm not too code savy, but I can figure most things out and find an answer when I don't know how (shoutout to youtube).

Back story:

- 4 Months ago, I upgraded to OSX Mavericks from the stock OS (I think Leopard).
- Almost two weeks after I did this it began restarting randomly, wasn't often and happened when I was doing something unimportant (watching a TV show, movie, photo editing) so I didn't mind.
- Two weeks after that, it happened quite often and became an issue almost to the point where I could barely login before it would restart.
- Read around for solutions for about a week, tried those, things went back to normal for a week or so before the problems began again.
- The next week it would restart then get stuck at the apple logo and 'loading wheel', couldn't even get to login.
- Following week I went to the Genius Bar, they came to the conclusion that it was my HD and recommended that I get a new one.
- Went online got a new one and installed it via iFixit guide. Also installed OSX Mavericks via USB install.
- Problem was not solved continued to occur almost identical, nothing bad at first, then increasingly reoccuring.

This brings me to this article post.

I have only installed necessary updates from the Apple Store, Firefox, VLC player, as well as loaded my old files from my external to this one.

Here are the specifics and stuff Ive seen posted before when reading these types of posts:

- 4 Months ago, I upgraded to OSX Mavericks from the stock OS (I think Leopard).

If you REALLY think that the problems started with the upgrade to Mavericks…then what I always suggest is…get the computer back to where/when it was stable. And this would involve down-grading the OS back to where it was.

I don't think that the original OS was Leopard. Leopard was OS 10.5…and when I looked up your computers specs…this model MacBook Pro shipped with Snow Leopard (OS 10.6).

Of course if you reinstall Snow Leopard…and the problem remains…then it wasn't the Mavericks upgrade.;)

Are you getting any sign of a “kernel panic” during these restarting randomly episodes??

If so or regardless, have to read Apple's kb article? Probably a good place to start:
OS X Mavericks: If your Mac restarts and a message appears

I fear you may have what my mid 2010 15" macbook pro suffered from.

It is a known issue with the geforce 330M graphics card that unfortunately can only be fixed by a logic board replacement (fortunately done for free from apple in my case as it fell into the extended warranty they had for this problem....this has now ended)

http://www.cnet.com/au/news/graphics-related-crashes-resurface-for-mid-2010-macbook-pro-systems/It worsened after upgrading my OS

"panic(cpu 2 caller 0xffffff7f913f6f7c): "GPU Panic: [<None>] 3 3 7f 0 0 0 0 3 : NVRM[0/1:0:0]: Read Error 0x00000100: CFG 0xffffffff 0xffffffff 0xffffffff, BAR0 0xc0000000 0xffffff812b4a3000 0x0a5480a2, D0, P2/4\n"@/SourceCache/AppleGraphicsControl/AppleGraphicsControl-3.6.22/src/Apple
http://www.cnet.com/au/news/graphics-related-crashes-resurface-for-mid-2010-macbook-pro-systems/"

from your log above seems all too familiar.

Random restarts and the odd freeze was its symptoms.

Apple at first did not want to agree with my diagnosis and reinstalled my OS only for it to begin again within 30 mins after getting it back home.
The second time they did replace the logic board and it has been perfect from that day on.

Good grief!!! When is Apple going to start using reliable graphics cards and I had the Nvidia card problem with my mid-late 2007 15" MBPro and I keep reading that the Mac's graphics card has gone kaput with - insert model and year Mac. Gheese!!! Enough already!! :(

At least my MBPro is still working after it's logic/graphics card replacement that Apple covered under their extended warranty. And I just made it under the wire - but just barely.

Yeah..same with me..got it replaced gratis on the extended warranty program for mid 2010 15" macbooks...unfortunately it has now ended.
Mine also started playing up much worse after updating the OS just like nc1711 is experiencing.

I've just left my mid-late 2007 15" MBPro running SL OS X 10.6.8 and I did replace its HDD with a SSD, even though it only has a 1.5Gps interface, but mainly for battery saving, and it still works well. I haven't tried it with 10.9.x even though it's capable of running it and it has 6GB RAM installed.
