If you have 32-bit apps that you are afraid of losing because you are migrating to a newer Mac that doesn't support them, just let us know which apps those are, and what they do, and we would be happy to suggest 64-bit alternatives.

Apparently is not good enough. I need specific answer 32bit or 64 bit EFI. Just becdause the processor is 64bit does not guarantee that a machine has 64bit EFI. Case in point is Mid 2006 MacBook. It has 64bit processor and 32bit EFI. The Apple Community link does not answer that question either, yes or no. I suspect the Mid 2010 Macbook Pro may have 32bit EFI as it will not boot the most current as of today Linux DVD or USB. My Mid 2013 27" aluminum iMac does boot a Linux 64bit USB stick. I will have to customize a linux install medium so that it will boot 32bit EFI but do not want to if there is some other problem.

Honestly speaking, none of us can give you a definitive answer. If you've tried the 64-bit of version of Linux and it didn't work, try a 32-bit version.

We can't help you with your Linux issues.

Does Mid 2010 MacBook Pro have 32bit EFI?

EveryMac.com says..... no! You didn't specify which exact mid-2010 MBP you have, but here's EM's listing for one of them:
