Your Mac's Specs
2017 27" iMac, 10.5" iPad Pro, iPhone 8, iPhone 11, iPhone 12 Mini, Numerous iPods, Monterey
Your machine according to Mactracker can access up to 8 GB of memory. You need to buy:

2 x 4 GB modules of - 204-pin PC3-8500 (1066 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM Which means you have to remove the 2 x 2 GB modules which are installed.
