Your Mac's Specs
27 iMac+Thunderbolt, iMac 21,
Just to toss another aspect out there as it were.
Had been operating very happily on 10.8 for some time and decided that perhaps it was time to move to Mavericks. Did a bootable back up and stopped some 3rd party software loading and did the upgrade.
All looked good until i tried to do what i had done daily for entire time on 10.8 viz, stretch a spreadsheet right across the 27 iMac to edge of 20 philips monitor and surprise, surprise, all the portion on the 20 just faded out and i could not see it.

After a couple of repeat efforts was left with the choice - try and troubleshoot and perhaps upgrade from iWork 09 ( and have other potential unknown issues crop up ) or revert back to 10.8.

In the end i did the 2.5 hours deal of reverting ( including the recovery disk ) and happily still on 10.8

Be interested to hear if any others have had similar issue or can shed light on what i came up against.

That's the stuff I'm worried about. I have several things, that cannot be updated to a new OS. Like that Flip video and all it's sofware that runs well, it's all organized neatly and works well for viewing and storing everything. I really like it, it has trouble on 10.8, I know it won't view on anything newer. And Flip video went out of business so ain't no updates for anything.

What I don't like about Yosemite, on some of the screen shots, it looks kinda like the cartoony ios7 that I wish I never updated too. Awful look. Can that be changed on Yosemite so that it still looks like a classic Mac srcreen and stuff?
