I have apparently duplicated thousands of photographs when backing up may phone to my iMac. Is there a simpler solution to deleting duplicates other than one by one?

How to Find and Remove Duplicate Files on Any Operating System

I just took a look at the article, and it looks like "dupeGuru" is what he likes for the Mac that's free. Just Google "dupeguru" and take it from there.

Turn off Photo Stream.
