I have just downloaded Bitdefender (free version from app store) and completed a full scan. I have 13 infections that cannot be quarantined or disinfected. In their help section it gives the opportunity to complete a list of tasks. When on windows I was always told to be very careful about deleting that, that cannot be quarantined or Dis. unless you knew what you were doing leave alone. I havent a clue. Any suggestions please

Personally I'd be a bit skeptical and wouldn't even download such software that doesn't even seem to have been updated for over two years, let alone how up to date their database is.

I'd just quit it and uninstall it and use a more recent Mac AV scanner if you feel you need one, like ClamXav etc.

Or as suggested by many on the site:
The Safe Mac

and run his scanner.

As suggested don't bother. BitDefender is a resource hog.

Download AdwareMedic and run that.

Many thanks to both replies.

Downloaded adawaremedic which found infections. Downloaded Clamxav which found the infections in the trash, so I assume adwaremedic done it's job. Clamxav is now showing no infections ...Deleted Bitdefender

Many thanks again :)
