Hello, I bought a new iMac. My old one was over 10 years old. On my old machine I used Clean My Mac. Is this an OK software to use? What would this group recommend? I use my machine to surf the net, pictures, email.
Many Thanks to this forum. You have helped me periodically over the years.

Is it OK? Probably yes. Do you need it? Probably no. CMM in it's older versions was very aggressive at "cleaning," to the point of cleaning things the system needed. I understand it's been tamed now, and works better, but you don't really need it. There are other tools, free, that work just as well. OnyX, is one you can search for. Get the proper version for the version of the OS on your new iMac. Other folks will chime in with their own favorites, I'm sure.

+1 for Onyx.
