MAIL problems

My Mail prgm (out of the blue) won't allow send/receive mssgs,about 2 wks now.
When I try to send mssg,I get "refused to allow connection on port 110".
Connection Dr tells me the POP account & login is OK but the SMTP
couldn 't connect-Verify server accepts connections on port 110.

Have already read some posts about this-
No firewall.
Tried changing port to 587,no diff.

GRRR...
Any advice pls & thk you.

Who is your ISP? Is this AT&T (SBC) by any chance where your mail server is?
