Also iOS 15.2, iPad 15.2 and probably watchOS and tvOS as well. They tend to release all of them at the same time. It's hard for me to check, my MBP is in "hospital" right now (bad display screen), and I'm on a backup system that isn't attached to much at all.

Sorry to hear about your MBP. If this is your new 16" MacBook Pro, there are also several reports over at MacRumors about display problems with both the 16" and 14" models.

And yes, updates for (macOS, iOS, iPadOS, AW, and TV) were likewise released.

Yes, it's the new one. Developed a line down the middle of the screen of unlit pixels. If it had been on an edge, I might have let it go, but it was right in the middle of the screen, hard to ignore. Apple says a week to repair it. So, I'm on various alternatives (iPad, iPhone) for now.

Apple will likely replace the display and entire top case. Don't know if that will also include the keyboard and trackpad. The new displays on the 16" and 14" machines are mini LED which means it will be an expensive repair. Good thing you're covered by AppleCare.

Is something wrong here. Was able to update my iphone with ios 15.2 with no issues. However, my macbook pro is indicating that no updates are available and is up to date. Why is 12.1 not available for my macbook. Macbook system preferences and app store all show no udates are available.

Keep checking. The servers are busy. I've had the same thing happen to me before but after a while the update will appear.

Yes, that seems to be their plan. From the work order, if it were not in warranty (and covered by AC+) it would cost US$828 (plus taxes that they didn't include on the work order) for the repair. Glad I got AC+ for it, this beast is EXPENSIVE to repair!

The updates aren't released to everyone at the same time. They are phased in. So you might get it in a day or so. If you have set your Mac to check fort updates, it will automatically let you know when it's ready.

I am on my 14" 2021 MBP right now and I am holding her ears closed and hand over eyes!!!! She is not going to have screen issues...no screen issues!!! Nope - no - not happening!!! I owned a 2011 15" MBP and I have had enough screen issues thank you very much. (I also have AC+ on her. ;) )

An update on the repair. I dropped the MBP at an Apple store after the Genius looked at the screen and agreed it needed replacing. Apple promised a week turnaround. Got notified on Tuesday it was repaired and on the way to me. Got it tonight. Less than 3 days turnaround! They did replace the top case and hinge. All is well again.

Just a little concerned. Updates as released were always immediately available for download on my macbook in the past. It has been 3 days since 12.1 has been released and the update still does not show as an available download in system preferences or in the app store. Is this still normal or do I possibly have issues. All appropriate boxes are checked in software updates dialogue.

That is an unusual long time for the update to appear especially since you're here in the US.

Try fetching the update using a terminal command and let us know if it works. Copy and paste the following into Terminal:

softwareupdate --fetch-full-installer --full-installer-version 12.1

Keep the terminal open until the download completes.

Copied and pasted the command in terminal. Now download has been stuck on "52 minutes remaining"
for the past hour now. Is this all normal ?

Thanks, will be patient. Just concerned when it got stuck at "52" minutes. Never came across issues downloading updates before. Now, can anyone offer insight as to possible causes for why the 12.1 update not being available on my MBP.

I am in the same boat. 12.1 has not shown up. I did the terminal download and it is stuck at 52 minutes - for over an hour. Will let you know what happens. I have backed up!

I have to admit that this has been a confusing download priority - area by area. It seems some folks in Europe and other parts of the world were able to download before we here in the US were able.

The download via Terminal will generally take longer to install and complete since it must be first verified before the installation begins. Verification of the download occurs either way but seems to go much faster when done the normal way.

Very confusing as you state. Going on three hours now and still stuck at "52" minutes. Considering hitting the cancel button.
