macintosh sent me two computers when i only ordered one

Moss makes a good point. If Apple doesn't contact you about it, then there's really no point in taking the initiative and calling them about it. Sure, it may be morally questionable to keep the extra computer, but if Apple doesn't notice, then I suggest you keep it.

But if you're going to be morally distraught about it, then do whatever it takes to clear your conscience. No point in getting a free computer if you're just gonna feel bad every time you look at it sitting there on the desk. Though it would make for a nice present to your boyfriend...

Had you not contacted them stating you did not received the ordered computer, and they mistakenly sent two units too you....well then there may be cause for letting it sit next to your desk awhile unopened.

Since you called stating non-delivery and they sent out a second model due to that contact, most definately you have to send it back.

If I remember correctly, this is what happened. You must follow your conscience. It means a lot to be able to sleep at night.

I was once sent two federal income tax checks. I was told NOT to send it back but put it in the bank and they would eventually ask for it. I did that and sure enough about 9 months later they wanted it ...with interest! Had to pay, but at least I hadn't spent it.

personally, i would let it sit in the front room until apple called me and asked for it to be sent back on their dime. not sure how long i would wait though.

I know a girl that happened to..she recieved 2 ibooks when she only ordered 1 !! (and was only charged for 1)..she didnt know what to do either..so she waited, 9 months later still nothing said,so she ended up selling it to her aunt !!!!.
