I have a 13" Macbook Pro unibody that has developed a problem. It was sitting closed on the bed, which is less then 2' from the ground, when the cat jumped on the bed, knocking the computer to the ground. It was a very small fall, so I figured it would be ok, especially since it was not open. When I opened it it had a black screen with 8 lines running vertically. I tried restarting, but it doesn't help. Sometimes the lines appear white, sometimes they have a hint of multicolor to them. The screen will also change, sometimes it will black with stripes, but sometimes it will be white with stripes. The computer will work, you can hear the drives working, when I restart I hear the chime, you can turn up and down the screen brightness, volume, it will even play music from my itunes when I hit the play button. What could be wrong with it? I tried looking in this forum and the internet, but I can not find anybody with the same problem. Could it just be a loose connection? Can somebody please help!

It may be a loose connection. The video cable extends from the logic board to the display area so it's possible that the fall may have loosened the connector. Otherwise it may indicate damage to the display itself. In either case, you probably should make an appointment with your local Apple store and have them look at it.
