I have purchased a second hand mac pro from a company which has left its startup logo and message on it , can I easily remove it

Well it helps if you provide more info such as model, operating system, if they supplied install DVD or if OS X.7 or later where there are no discs and if you have an Apple ID. Whenever getting a used machine far better to format and erase the hard drive and do a clean install.
