I have a 2008 Mac Pro and have 4 8gb modules and four 4gb modules. I know you put them in in matches pairs, but do I spread these out between the the two bays(?) 2x(4,4,8,8) or do put all the 8s in one and all the 4s in the other (4,4,4,4) & (8,8,8,8)

Sorry if I'm missing something, but I read through it and don't completely understand. It didn't really say in which order or which side I install ithe 8gb vs 4gbs. Do I put all the 4gb in one side and 8 in the other or two of each in each side.

This Apple document may make things clearer (since there's a graphic). It doesn't matter where you install the pairs of RAM (top or bottom RAM riser card)...as long as they are installed in pairs...as per the graphic in the document. If it makes things seem more "neat & tidy"...put all four 4-gig RAM modules in the top riser card...and all RAM 8-gig RAM modules in the bottom riser card. But the important thing is to install in pairs (as described in the graphic).

Great answer Nick! One picture is worth a lot of unnecessary replies! :)
