In system profiler one of my 4 gig sticks says ECC error. Does that mean it needs to be replaced? What are the steps to trouble shooting or fixing it as I never had to deal with this. Thanks.

Have you tried to re-seat the RAM? Are you getting the errors often? Are you seeing any kernel panics?

It is more than likely a failing DIMM, and will probably have to be replaced.

Try swapping 2 sticks after you blow off the dust. This will show you if it is a problem with the memory or the slot. Also, if you end up moving it to slot 0 (or 1 if that is what the start at) and the machine has trouble powering on then it is the stick. Most of these machines must have a fully functioning stick in the first slot to power on.
