Mac Pro 2019 Overheating

My Mac Pro 2019 has been getting too hot and shutting itself down when playing World of Warcraft - seems ok otherwise for work etc. So I upgraded the fairly basic video card it came with to the AMD Radeon Pro W5700X 16 GB. Still the same. So I am now using TG Pro to whizz up the fans to keep it cooler. The problem always appears to be the GPU which can hit 80-odd degrees very quickly and has been up to 100...I do not know what it hit to cause the shutdowns. TG Pro can keep it to 60 degrees or so comfortably. I suppose my main question is why do the Mac's fans not do this automatically - they never spin faster on their own and I have to rely on TGPro to spin them up? Also does anyone know what would be normal safe temperature?Anyone else been having this problem?

Lucky you to have a 2019 Mac Pro! As you know...base price on a 2019 Mac Pro is about $5999 (and up)...thus probably not too many if us with one! Lol

Having an actual 2019 Mac Pro (on our end) is probably not important...since it really comes down to general computer troubleshooting. Can you tell us what you've done in terms of troubleshooting already?

The only thing I see mentioned above was using this TG Pro fan app.

Some troubleshooting to try:

* Reboot the computer...open activity monitor (don't open any other apps)...and see if you have any CPU processes that are taking up a lot of CPU resources.
* How many Apps do you have running when you're playing WoW?
* How many browser tabs do you have open when playing WoW?
* Maybe give the Mac Pro a good cleaning.
* Try running the Mac Pro from a separate storage device (external probably)...or setup an additional partition on the Mac Pro's internal storage...do a fresh install of the macOS on this additional partition...and see if this helps. This will test to see if you have any "rogue" items installed or running on the current setup.
* Download...install...and run the free maintenance app called "Onyx"...and run the default processes.
