MAC OSX and Windows NT external drive

Hi all,
I've just bought a lovely shiny new mac mini. Tiger will not allow me to write to an external Windows NT formatted drive. Can someone tell me how to change permissions? You can't do it on the view options pane.

If the ext hd is to be shared between a Mac & a PC and you want to be able to write to the drive, AFAIK you need to format it FAT32.

Correct. The Mac can read NTFS but not write to it.
