the8thark;721140 Anyways later the OP can always upgrade the 1 GB for a 2 GB one if needed.[/QUOTE said:
Yes, by getting the 2GB stick it won't make any difference price wise either and the price may be even cheaper later for the extra 2GB.:)

I've just realised something.

If your iMac is indeed the same model as mine (And I'm pretty certain that it is) your 1GB of RAM is in 1 stick with one slot empty. Therefore you only need to order the 2GB module for the spare slot.

If this is the case you may want to change your order.

To check this:-
  • Click on the Apple symbol in top left hand corner
  • Click 'About this Mac'
  • More Info
  • Click 'Memory' in left hand pane
  • Your RAM module(s) and it's/their size(s) are listed in right hand pane

I used the computer scanner from crucial.
I ordered 1 2GB stick for my empty slot.
1GB is a slot
2Gb is the other slot

3 total.

Is that ok?

Yes that should be just fine.

I'm not sure if it matters which shot each of them goes in. I don't think it does though.

Yes that's fine. Sorry, I mistakenly thought that you had ordered the 2GB and a 1GB.

Help with ilife and imac..

Hello. I am not computer savvy at all, but Im hoping someone can help me. I have had my iMac for awhile. It is a PowerPC G4 (3.3) 1 GHz. Up until recently I had never upgraded the OS. I have installed Leopard, and soon came to realize none of my iLife apps will work with the new OS. I have a couple questions. From what I understand, iLife 08' will not work with my computer. (Im pretty sure it is not an Intel based computer), and I cannot upgrade my computer enough to have it work. Can anyone verify that this is correct. If that is true, I assume iLife 06' is my only option? Where would be the best place to buy it? Thanks in advance for any help!

Your machine can run iLife 08. The only thing it cannot handle in it is IMovie HD but you can download the 06 version of iMovie for free from Apple anyway.
