According to Canon, their Pixma MX922 all-in-one printer is not compatible with macOS 15 Sequoia (or macOS 14.x Sonoma), but at least it Prince and scans on my 20/20 iMac running Mac OS 15.

However, the utility does not work for remote print head cleaning, etc., and appears only as an option if one chooses and uses the option to install the network printer driver. Accessing the utility does not appear with any other option for that printer model.

At least the utilities are still available using the tools menu on the front of the MX922 printer.

It's nice that an unsupported and "incompatible" is still able to print and scan, even if it did stop printing from its normal black cartridge some months ago which seems to be some sort of goof-up in its printhead.

This Web page is offering downloadable software drivers for the MX922 for macOS 15 Sequoia:

If you try them, please let us know if they work for you.

I note that Canon says that the MX922 supports AirPrint:

Another option is to purchase a discounted printer from Canon:

Thanks for the info and the link, but that software and the versions appear to be the same as the ones I downloaded from the Canon Canadian site so I would be very surprised if there were any changes if I was to download and install them. 😉

I don't think so. After the print heads failed on several Canon inkjet printers I have owned I've either completely or partially failed, I'll be looking into other brands thank you even if they were fairly decent printers while they were operating. And the failures occurred even with thorough and meticulous maintenance and cleaning.

I was so fed up with Cannon and their printer failures I encountered last year, I picked up a barely used Brother MFC-J1012DW AIO inkjet printer from our local Facebook Marketplace for a fraction of a new printer price and it has been an excellent printer/scanner and even faxing capabilities if I want to connect it and use it for the very small use it might get these days.

Nice find there Patrick. I've been using a Brother printer for several years now. I had previously used a Canon MX 990 I think but had problems with it not wanting to stay on the network and print head clogging issues because it wasn't getting a lot of use at the time.

My Brother printer doesn't get a lot of use but I haven't had issues with the print head clogging.

We have been using an Epson Eco Tank (at least that's what they're called now) printer/scanner for 8 years now in Bali, a notoriously difficult place to buy cartridges. We bought it on a Trip to India and it hasn't let us down yet. Back then this model was unavailable in Western countries. So no cartridges just 4 ink pots to fill which happily take Canon brand ink. Software/drivers continue to be either compatible or updateable for current macOS. The only drawback is that this model is not wireless but that's a small consideration for what it's saved me in cartridges over the years.
