mac os 10 not loading

I cannot get yosemite to load. I have download it 2-3 times but it will not load. Any reason for this. thanks.

What do you mean by "not load"…what exactly is…or is not…happening?

Thank you for your reply. After I have downloaded the update and click on install, everything seems to go well, then the computer will restart but the update does not install. The previous version 10.9.5 is still present and nothing has changed. In other words the update does not install. Any suggestions. Thanks
