For the last few days I have been experiencing problems with sending email with MacMail. I have discussed with my ISP and they say it must be a device problem. This would seem to be the case as I can send email with my Android phone and iPad. Mail remains in the Outbox in Mac Mail and eventually asks for password to be entered.

Entering password does not resolve the issue but I find that restarting my Mac does.

This has now happened several times.

No settings have been changed so its a mystery.

Any ideas please?

Try running Disk Utility.app, and run whatever Repairs or First Aid options you have available.

It may not fix the problem but it sure won't do any damage.
