I'm trying to get connected, but it would seem that freenode requires identd....which it seems I don't have (I was unaware). I'd probably have better luck using a GUI client, but I like to SSH to my server at home so I can just leave it open all the time when I'm out and about...anyone else been successful connecting with irssi?

How do I work this thing?
• First open the program!

• Next you will be presented a screen called "connections"

• You shouldn't need to look into preferences until you are an advanced user.

• Hit Open Apple + N, or go to file to New Connection!

• Type in for Nickname: Your Mac-Forums.com User ID (so we know who you are)

• Leave Server Protocol the same.

• Change the Chat Server to: irc.freenode.net (should be the first in the drop down menu)

• Check "remember this connection"

• Click Connect!

• You will be taken back to "connections"

• Click on your new connected client.

• Press the button at the top of Connections called "Join room"

• Type "#Mac-forums"

• You are now in the Mac-Forums room (may take a second to load up)

• To 'register' or 'identify' yourself, type "/IDENTIFY #mac-forums yourpassword

• If you join us frequently enough we will give you voice!
