For those that were helping with the myserious beeping problem (colloquy), thanks for your help. After working through the problem I found what it was. I muted my system and still heared the beeping. I powered down the system and still heared the beeping. So I unplugged the system just in case and I still heard the beeping. As I was sitting behind by system I hear the beep again and realized the sound did not from from my system, but from my wife purse. lol :) It turns out the battery on her work cell phone battery was calling out to be charged. Once I powered off her cell phone, all was quiet.

Hahahahhahahahahaha! I needed a good laugh and that gave it to me! Thanks Rman and glad to hear it was not your Mac after all!!

I had that happen but it was some Pedometer that tells you how far you have walked. It has some thing that beeps and announces the time at 6AM. I had just gotten up and was checking email and Mac Forums and it went off in a drawer on the computer table. I was sure it was from the Mac. I did not figure it out till the next morning when it went off again. Drove me crazy till I did!

Hope to see you next Sunday evening in IRC!!

That is funny (now anyway). Reminds me of when I had a new pocket watch and the alarm went off at a certain time. I spent days trying to figure out where this strange noise was coming from every single day at 5 pm.

I has a similar problem with my grandson wrist watch. We packed the house to move. After placing the extra boxes in the garage. We would hear a beep at about 4:00PM. After locating the sound we found his watch in the box at the bottom and the back of the stack.

MacHeadCase, the only thing you really need to know as being an operator in the IRC is knowing the only important command you'll ever need. It has never failed me. /kick schweb

Use Colloquy instead. It's in the How To posted above. And yeah Ben is dazzling in there! Whooh! Need shades right now!

For some odd reason neither of the programs will connect me. I wonder if my university has restrictions in place or something.

Yeah, I've done all that. My guess is that my university's internet connection has some type of restriction in place.

See Sig...
Why don't people idle in the IRC channel more often? I mean, I stayed on all week last week just out of curiosity and by Wednesday I was basically the only person left. o.o
