I have another band concert tonight... and I hope it doesn't turn out like the last one. I had my last jazz concert last night and it was the worst concert I have ever played. The first time we looked at these songs as a whole band was last week. On top of that, we never went through COMPLETELY any of these songs straight through as a band. So regardless of practice or lack of it, we never heard the song full through as it should sound with everyone. The song selection by our director sucked... and we told him that the whole time before the concert. One of the songs he miscounted and stopped the whole band in the middle of the song... and we played this song fine the time we went through it. At the concert though, he decided to direct it in cut town and randomly switch to 4/4 without even changing the beat. So 1 2 1 2 was the same length as 1 2 3 4. So annoying... Another time he said "Sorry, that is not how the ending is supposed to sound, replay the ending how it should sound" So... I'm hoping tonight will go much better as it is my last concert in high school. And this song selection sucks as well... we never get to choose our own songs we want to play.

Um, that old lady would be me. A 15 year old male.
LOL!

Thanks for posting the larger pic. On the small one it did look to me like a old lady also! :D

On the Avatar on my 20" screen I could not really see the other positions of your face. Sorry! :D

So sanity... how does the story of your avatar end? I'm curious if the helmet helps.

Okay, forgot something last time around:

Got our yearbooks today!

They're pretty great, it's my first hardcover yearbook. Worth the $50? Well yeah, but it was my moms money so that doesn't matter.

Some thoughts though:

Okay, let's proofread.
I didn't think these simple yearbook mistakes happened in high school.
"Chocolate" is not "Choclate"

And okay, when putting in pictures of the volleyball team, you put the 07-08 team picture in, not the 06-07...

If you take a tiny picture, blow it up to the size of whole page...it's NOT going to be recognizable when you print it out.

Guys: If your junk is visible......let's NOT submit the picture for the yearbook, peoples families look at them.

Girls: We can SEE down your shirt, do you really want the world to see too?

Yearbook people: We know you work hard, and we love what you do....but let's keep it PG!

Some seniors: Don't write "Life's a PARTY when you're drunk, you'll never know what happens when you're WASTED!" when you're not even old enough to drink yet, it's generally frowned upon.

School: Get a wide angle lens if you want to take a picture of all the staff.
The top 85% of the page is trees, and you guys are tiny.

Office Administrators: We liked the memorial to the student who passed away last year. However, it's unfair that only ONE student gets a memorial, when more than one student has died in the past few years.
It's great that you have a memorial section, but it's rude that you exclude people. They need to be remembered, no matter how they died.

Yearbook people: Let's ASK before you put that close up of that poor girl eating a taco up over the ENTIRE page.
It's all in good fun, we know that, but some people don't like that.

Yearbook people: When you have interviews, and you're writing them in the yearbook, exclude the "Ums" and "Uh"s and "Er"s. It makes people sound stupid. And, you have names that don't match up with pictures. I don't know who that girl in the picture is, but it's NOT the name it says....the real Taylor A is a guy, and I don't see his picture in here.

I love this yearbook!

The senior thing has got me thinking about when i'm going to be a senior...3 years i'll be graduating. Scary. If only high school could go on forever.
It's sad knowing that I might not ever see some of my friends after that day.
I'm friends with about 85% of my peers, i can't stand the fact of not seeing them!

And i wonder what my quote will be....something that takes a funny meaning out of life.

Hm.......

There is a orchestra teacher like that at my old high school. I never had the guy as a teacher, but some said he had a nipple ring.

All helpful? That really depends on who you ask and what you don't see. ;)

Welcome to my life right now... except I feel bad for you cause you will have four years with your friends, which will be harder to leave. I really only had one. I was a loner till this year and never talked to anyone. I regret not doing it. I made a few good friends this last year and now it is going to be over for almost a year because I will be far away from them. But be glad you have your friends now, cause they are all that matters really, and family. Something in my life I won't be able to make up like a missed quiz.

Frankly, I'm a little cheesed off with this person selling me the PowerBook.

I did many checks on UPS.com and the shipping that I requested was $118.87. She said fine, I'll ship it out tomorrow morning. For what I originally paid, it would be 75 extra. Fine, and I added $15 for insurance. I paypal'd her the money. She emailed me and said that the device was shipped out (working tracking number, she's not a scammer.). Only one problem: for that, that only got me UPS standard. *facepalm.* She got a freakin 118 dollar estimate? For GROUND?!. It's not THAT far. So I called UPS and they confirmed that my estimate of Ground and Worldwide Express(the one that I asked for but she said got quoted for $384). No big deal, here by Friday. Groovy. I called UPS to see if it was a NSR package, they said that no sig was required. Awesome. They did mention about how it is Collect on delivery. If the seller would have gone with MY quote, and if she would not have over valued the computer when she shipped it, I wouldn't have to pay over $110 in customs and brokerage fees not including taxes.

I sent her 3 e-mails, One with my screenshot of the quotes on UPS.com, one with my complaint, and one with my idea of her giving back all of the money to me. She did give me $45 back when she found her quote was a "bit off", but the shipping at $73 is still ridiculous considering, once again, that UPS quoted me $37.83. The shipping charges, at the $37 rate, is 3x less than the freaking brokerage charges.

These are the 3 mistakes she made:

1: Not erring on the customer's side and going with my quote. Forgive me if this seems a bit greedy, but I sent her hard proof that my quote was the accurate one.

2: She over-valued the package. This PB is only worth $720 (what I bought it for. What it's worth according to Mac2Sell). She valued it at $850. Not a problem with the shipping I paid for and requested, because brokerage fees are included. But with the ground, the brokerage fees are 2.75 percent of the 850, + 6% of 850... it adds up to at least $100.

3. Not calling UPS and trying to make a decent effort to get it resolved.
Am I stupid for asking for my shipping money back?

Stupid GM and their stupid DexCool.

So friggin' expensive.

Yep, love it. When I had my cavalier, the first summer I had it the radiator was blocked, and I had to have the entire system had to be flushed. I think it was over $100 in just coolant.

iRye, I know you live in Canada, but where does she live? Just curious. That shipping sounds a bit high.

He and his wife are in Ohio.

I got this sorted out. His wife mailed it out and didn't know I paid. So now I have the standard $43 paid, and it's here friday. :)

Goodness, it would be a TERRIBLE waste of money, unless you're in the market for the stench of manure.
For that amount of money, you could get your iMac a rabies vaccination!

hah?

oh, isn't there an aftermarket equivalent?

Yeah, but even then, it's still pricey.

Prestone makes a "compatible" version that's $14 a gallon, which is what I got, but the GM version is $20 a gallon, and I have an S-10, with which that coolant will last me about three months.
