actually i'm from the part that former mayor and former state auditor Pat Awada/Anderson once called "the slums of eagan". 
it is a very nice town though. i guess i'm just used to the south, especially the minnesota river valley area. when i came here after college about 15 years ago i lived in apple valley for a while, then minneapolis for a year or so (near broadway and university ), then burnsville and eagan.

I used to go to some computer explorer thing in Eagan at the Blue Cross Blue Shield, then Thompson West. But I got too busy and quit. Very nice town indeed, driving through it. Maplewood is good though... my neighborhood atleast. What made you move here from the South? Not many people can stand living here if they didn't grow up here.

oh... by south, i just meant south suburbs - i'm originally from new jersey, not too far south, but not too cold either.
my parents moved here and a number of my other relatives had moved out before that, i visited and fell in love with how clean it was and how nice people were - uh, comparatively anyway.

Yeah... that's why it's "Minnesota Nice". I don't think I will ever leave and live somewhere else. The worst thing about it though is the roads. I think we have the worst roads in the nation. This winter especially killed them with all the fluctuating weather! So you must agree with me it is grey duck? Or you haven't been here long enough yet? I need to find someone that agrees with me, so I know I'm not the only one that is right.

i think it's getting to be that way everywhere... shrinking budgets, etc.
jersey roads were pretty hit and miss when i left. but i haven't driven on them since i was out there about 5 years ago.
i can say i regularly drive on one of the most poorly maintained roads in the metro area. black dog road between 35w in burnsville and silverbell road (near the intersection of hwy 77 (cedar ave) and hwy 13).
it does show up fully on google maps with street level if you want to check it out.
