For some reason, boot camp won't work on my mac. Paralells is pretty slow. The PC i made myself has a broken PSU, and for some reason if i want to go to staples to get a new PSU, my dad doesn't let me.

I need a PC.

BTW, Vostros come with XP... and it came with 1GB RAM, and I upgraded it to 1.5 GB for (!) $20!!!!

I don't mind vista, I survived with it with 512MB RAM and a Celeron (!) quite well. :)

I've got a 450 Watt ATX PSU you can have.

Well that is good news at least. XP is still a very nice OS.

What you going to do with the Mac? Wonder why Bootcamp will not install?

Dude, you wanna Dell? ;P
I've been through three with husband unit (when he was boyfriend). Don't like, but maybe their laptops are better than the desktops?!

And thanks for all the good wishes!

It says I must reformat my disk. I have, but it still says that I must reformat my disk. I hate the driver install, and I'd rather just use a PC than Paralels or Boot Camp.

How much for the PSU? Does it have SATA power?

I think a lot of people blame software (and OS) issues on the hardware. Dell actually makes very nice hardware. It's not their fault that they're tied to Microsoft for an OS.

Yes, in my opinion, Dell's laptops are among the best in the business from a hardware perspective. I don't like their desktops quite as much (they tend to use BTX cases these days, which is forward-thinking, but the rest of the industry hasn't caught on yet).

You know what's also forward thinking? A screen, a motherboard, hard drive, optical drive and power supply in one case with a big Apple logo on the back :)

I think for $539 i got a pretty good deal. It was $499 to start, and it started with a AMD Sempron 1.6 GHz single core processor. Then for $10 extra, I could get a AMD Turion X2 dual core processor at 2 GHz. then, for $20, i added an extra half gig of ram. :)

That's a great deal and a nice little machine. I would have no qualms about owning it - although, I would have Ubuntu 7.10 on it in a heartbeat :)

Gah, this is crap. Mailed my title to my truck last thursday to claims and they still haven't gotten it. Which means I still haven't gotten my check. And to top it off, I won't see the check for my warranty for another 2-3 weeks.

How am I supposed to buy a new car if I don't have my money?

Bummer, Stretch. Did you happen to send it certified? What insurance company is this? Granted, I've only ever had a totaled car once in my lifetime, but I don't remember having to turn my title in before I received a settlement.

State Farm, no I sent it in the envelope they gave me. They said to call again in the morning to see if they got it. I'm hoping they did, because I have a car lined to to buy, and kinda need this for a down payment. Driving the boss's new Ram is nice, but its getting kinda tiring. Its huge for one thing (quad cab), its auto, and only gets 14.4mpg on good days.

MY GOODNESS M-F!
THE BAR & GRILL WAS ON THE
........SECOND PAGE OF ANYTHING GOES!(GASP)
OH MY GOODNESS!

So i shall post.

So, the whole cancer benefit we were organizing.......CANCELLED TODAY.
I'm really annoyed, I guess it's because the people organizing it didn't like the idea of a jewelry sale and a silent auction.
So after getting a lot of people on board, news, change war, all that, it's cancelled.
Because that doesn't make me look like a huge idiot, not at ALL.

And one day I saw this girl who has been one of my BEST FRIENDS for a while, well not BEST FRIENDS, but close, but anyway, I just saw her and I was like WOAH, I NEVER REALIZED HOW AMAZING SHE IS IN EVERY WAY.
And she really is.
I mean.....she's so original. So funny. I find myself making excuses to be around her.
In the hallway there was this table where we usually converse, and I was like "I wonder what people would do if that table was in the middle of this crowded hallway." (stupid, right?), and she pushed it out there, folded it out in the MIDDLE of the hall, got on it, started singing and screaming "FREEEEEEEEEE KITTTTTTEEEEEEENNNNNNSSSSSSS!"
and everyone was like ***.
It was AMAZING.
I thought I was the only one who was crazy weird.
I love that.
Everytime i'm with her I release my true crazy self and it's a blast, it usually ends in major tears of laughter.

My thoughts.

Yay! I got my copy of 7.6 on floppy in the mail today. It's still sealed and it comes with a free trial of AOL; can't wait to sign up!!
Still waiting on the PowerBook to come in so I can start playing. Anyone interested in an un-boxing of old Apple software?
